Why play a 2nd team? We can play the 1st team on Thursday and Sunday. It's a 3 day break and its exactly the same all the champions league team gets when they play.
Wednesday to Saturday (3 days)
Saturday to Tuesday (3 days)
Sunday to Wednesday (3 days)
3 days is absolutely enough to recover with all the physiotherapy available.
Clearly he wanted to go out of the competition, there is no other reason why he would field a 2nd team.
That begs the question, WHY?
I know the league is the priority but we're not going to win or get relegated (we could just go out later if we were in relegation trouble). We are going to finish mid table and safe so why not give the europa a crack? Another cup competition, more games to watch for the fans and more revenue.
We play the same teams every year and finally we get a chance to travel and watch our team play in Europe and Bilic just takes the piss and gets us knocked out before the season has even started
Absolutely fucking pathetic, I really hope he has more ambition in the other cup games.
People say we will be play better in the league this season if we go out. the last time we were in europe, we're got knocked out by palermo in the qualifiers and that set the tone for the whole season.

I wouldn't go this far...
....yet.
There were positives. Young players playing the right way. Our team passing the ball for the first time in years. Selection policy was terrible though.

The squad was not in a position to challenge in any meaningful way for Europe and be a decent competative force in the Prems and the cups.
When Bilic took over it was "All I want is a decent prem finish and a good cup run"...
Now its "All I want is a decent prem finish and a good cup run but now BILIC has ruined my hope and dreams for Europe, the club killing CUNT ...waaaaa, Waaaa"

Yeah, well I am 100% behind him and the club. It was a fluke to get in the competition by the back door but we don't have the squad for it. It's as well we find out now rather than when we're stuck with it. It's a shame and I was looking forward to some euro away days but there it is. In four games we lose three players and one manger through sending off and one serious injury. Even with playing with kids we start the season with one injury prone striker. Tonight was the right decision. even before the first leg it was obvious we needed a three goal cushion as we weren't going to travel with a strong squad just before Arsenal.
Get over yourselves and get behind the team and the manager in our final season. I don't want to spend it moaning.

Get real. We are nowhere near being a capable European side because we don't have a large enough, skilled enough or settled enough squad. The longer this adventure went on the more likely we were going to jeopardise our premiership chances this coming season. As it now stands we can now concentrate on improving our PL position - a tough enough challenge as it is without the added pressure of chasing a European campaign we are ill equipped to fight. Maybe in a couple of years. But not now.
